The Southwestern Illinois Metropolitan and Regional Planning Commission (SIMAPC) is governed by a 127-member board comprised of statutorily and locally appointed representatives from counties, municipalities, townships, and special interest groups across the region. This diverse board ensures that various communities and stakeholders are involved in regional planning efforts, focusing on economic development, transportation, land use, and environmental sustainability. The board collaborates to set long-term goals, approve major projects, and implement comprehensive plans that support regional growth and development.
